GRASS VALLEY, CA - January 26, 2007 - 49er Communications supplies
police, fire, EMS and other emergency personnel with tools to
effectively communicate during critical situations.

49er Communications announced the availability of interoperable two-
way communications equipment that promises to make communities and
public safety personnel safer by allowing first responders from
various agencies and jurisdictions to effectively communicate with
each other at the scene of an emergency.

Project 25 (P25 or APCO 25), a digital radio standard that enables
two-way radios from different manufacturers to work together, have
traditionally proven to be costly and complex for many public safety
agencies. Recognizing this problem, 49er Communications has
researched and partnered with iCOM America and Relm Wireless;
manufacturer of BK Radio, “to bring first responders a wide range of
choices in cost-effective and reliable P25 equipment", said founder
and owner, Holley Masch.

49er Communications’ P25 radio offerings are compatible with agencies’
existing VHF and UHF radio systems. In addition, 49er has radios that
can migrate into digital P25 with an upgrade; purchased at a later
date if current budgets don’t allow for digital purchases right away.

Agencies can be prepared for widespread P25 adoption regulated by the
FCC and for the unpredictable event that necessitated the need for
interoperability in the first place.

Our P25 radios meet military specifications, are easy to operate with
large, easy to read buttons and screens and some are completely
waterproof. Our P25 mobiles feature either dash or remote mount,
minimizing the impact of additional electronics equipment in the
vehicle.

According to Masch, with the federal government providing homeland
security grants specifically for P25 solutions, agencies that have not
yet considered their options for interoperable radios have been
afforded a great opportunity to upgrade to P25 equipment. 49er lists
a variety of resources on their website that will direct users to the
availability of grant money, specific to their funding needs.

49er Communications’ solid reputation for nationwide service combined
with high quality, affordable equipment means that public safety
agencies now have a trustworthy option for taxpayer dollars that are
dedicated to emergency equipment.

49er Communications is a government certified, woman owned small
business, launched in 1997.
