HAMDEN, CT - January 18, 2005 - It's been said, "Great ideas
are born out of trial." That's what happened when Bob Errato faced a
difficult theater construction project which carried a tight budget
and a short deadline.
For years, literally thousands of dollars have been wasted due to
theater projects "gone bad", which started out sounding wonderful from
an artistical point of view.
The problem often lies in bringing the design ideas and actual
construction together to create a finished product that's safe,
efficient and beautiful all the same.
After years of observing these short-comings, Bob Errato, Executive
Director of Alliance TCC, discovered an innovative way to solve the
theater design dilemma while also saving the owner hundreds of
thousands of dollars in the process.
Errato's new patented techniques iron out the wrinkles of the design
and construction of a new theater, allowing those who "build and
operate the theater to also design it."
With over thirty years in the real estate field and his many years as
an executive in charge of theatre management, Errato is considered an
expert in theatre design, operations, construction and consulting. His
patented design and construction methods have resulted in
significantly reduced construction costs as compared to conventional
theatre design and construction methods. His cutting edge approach has
sparked the interest of communities throughout the United States,
currently exploring or planning the development of new entertainment
venues.
In late 1995, Errato commenced development of the Oakdale Theatre, a
new state-of-the-art 5,000 seat theatre and event venue. Committed to
a strict budget and tight construction schedule, Errato devised
construction techniques never before used in the development of
theatres. Drawing from these unique designs and his extensive
experience, Bob completed the Oakdale on time and within budget in
July of 1996. His unique design and construction methods were so
revolutionary that he applied for and received several patents.
These patents led to dramatic savings of hundreds of thousands of
dollars for new theater development.
The first patented concept presents a modular design and construction
method which results in substantial savings of time and money and
incorporates a variable seating capacity, which allows adjustment of
the number of seats available based upon the size of each act. This
allows the theater to be occupied for a number of performances
including, but not limited to, orchestra concerts, ballet, dance, rock
and roll, Broadway, opera, comedy and family shows. This theater
design contains corporate suites at the mezzanine level for
entertaining sponsors and the clients prior to, during and after a
performance.
The variable seating function allows for adjustment to as little as
2,400 seats, or for larger acts, the seating capacity can be easily
increased up to approximately 5,600 seats.
The variable seating feature is accomplished by the second patent,
which is a moveable acoustic wall that can be easily maneuvered
according to the seating capacity of a performance. The seating
capacity is adjusted with ease and in a cost effective manner.
These two unique design techniques, along with the capabilities of
Alliance TCC to complete the work proficiently, create outstanding
benefits and development cost savings up to 45 percent compared to
conventionally designed facilities for the theater owner.
